Lathe Slitting Capabilities – ACT Tapes

At ACT Tapes, we recognize that certain projects require more than traditional wide or narrow web slitting. Lathe slitting provides the flexibility needed for odd slitting opportunities, ultra-narrow widths, multiple widths within a single web, and smaller volume runs. Many products simply perform better when processed on a lathe slitter, and ACT Tapes is fully equipped to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

Programmable Precision

Our state-of-the-art programmable lathe slitters are designed for speed, efficiency, and repeatability. By storing job specifications like digital “recipes,” we minimize setup time while ensuring every run achieves the same reliable quality.

Technical Capabilities

  • Blade Options: Single blade, double blade, and saw blade.
  • Widths: Slitting down to 1/64”.
  • Tolerance: ±0.005, with capacity for rolls up to 700mm (28”) O.D. base stock.
  • Core Sizes: 1”, 1 ½”, and 3” I.D.

Automation & Controls

  • Microprocessor Controls: Job numbers assigned for each customer with automatic setup for repeat efficiency.
  • Slitting Profiles: Self-lubricating systems, automatic blade sharpening, and lock or driven blade configurations for precise results.

Substrate Compatibility

Our lathe slitters are engineered to handle a wide range of materials, including:
  • Non-PSA, PSA single-faced, and PSA double-coated
  • Paper, cloth, films, specialty substrates
